The ITE Manitoba mock-Traffic Bowl
Instead of our usual monthly lunch meeting, we will be doing something a little different for May. On Thursday, May 10th, we will be holding a mock Traffic Bowl as a dry-run of the real Collegiate Traffic Bowl at the CITE conference here in Winnipeg later in May. The Traffic Bowl is a Jeopardy-style quiz show that deals with all sorts of questions… er… answers about all things transportation. The competitors at the CITE conference at the end of May will be students from various ITE student chapters all across Canada, but we need to hold a dry-run here first.
So on Thursday, May 10th, come watch the best and brightest (HA!) transportation engineers in Winnipeg battle it out! It’s consultants vs. bureaucrats… all for the glory of testing out equipment to make sure it works for the real competition!
The smackdown will take place on Thursday, May 10th at 12 noon in the Event Centre in SmartPark at the UofM (map available here). Please come witness the daring displays of athleticism trivia knowledge. Citius, altius, geekius! Competitors are strongly advised to take transit to the event, as the intense heated competition may render you unable to safely operate a motor vehicle.
The teams for the battle royal are…
The City of Winnipeg Dream(on) Team
(Luis Escobar, Michael Cantor, Jonathan Foord)
vs.
Stantec
(Brad Cook, Bob Kurylko, Wayne Byczek)
vs.
MMM Group
(David Patman, Sagar Onta, Ken Wimble)
The cost is $20 to attend or compete. Pizza, veggie trays, drinks and dessert will be provided to all attendees and competitors.
